New products covered under CRS – Phase 4 of BIS

India Meity released the Gazette notification with the list of new products to be covered under Compulsory Registration Scheme Phase 4 of BIS.

Please refer to below list of new products being included, which will be mandatory from Oct. 1st, 2020.

*Electronic Musical System (200W above) had already added from Phase 1.

*Plasma/LCD/LED TVs of screen size 32" & above had already added from Phase 1.

*Plasma/LCD/LED TVs of screen size upto 32” had already added from Phase 3.

 

• Multi-Function Devices having additional facility of Fax, Scan, Photocopy along with Printing have to be tested and registered under the category Printer/Plotter.
• A transition period of three months (max), from the date of coming into effect of the Order, would be available to the representative of the foreign manufacturing unit having liaison office or branch office located in India for affixing BIS Standard Mark at the ports which are already having unique registration number from the Bureau for clearance of goods from customs.
• Surveillance activity and renewal application will be considered as per latest standard.
